PL 9/09: Traffic counting in Porto

Filed under: BOBCATSSS, statistics — plinius @ 10:09 am

bobcatssBOBCATSSS continues.

Final BOBCATSSS planning meeting in Tampere.

Today, the conference moved from the Faculty of Engineering, on the outskirts of Porto, to the Faculty of Letters, which lies near the centre – and the river (Douro).

I am giving a ninety minute workshop on traffic counting at 11.30 am (an hour from now). This morning I explored the building. It has a big multi-storied library, which is well suited for traffic observation training.

So I’ll start with a brief introduction, divide the participants into small groups, and send them off to define zones and to observe activities. Each group will start at a different floor.

As I finish – in a corner of the BOBCATSSS computer room, a group of Dutch superstars – with a professional looking video recorder – are taking over.

Good luck to you!
