LATINA is a change-oriented digital training programme at Oslo University College.
LATINA stands for Learning and teaching in a digital world.
Our goal is to provide teachers, students and professional people with the technical, social and conceptual tools they need to operate successfully in a web-based world.
LATINA/lab
We conduct most of our training in the LATINA/lab, which is a dedicated class room equipped with a digital whiteboard (Smartboard) and portable computers for all participants (up to 20).
The LATINA/lab (text in Norwegian) is located at the OUC Learning Centre (LC). The laboratory is a joint undertaking of the OUC Centre for Educational Research and Development (CERD) and LC. The Lab has professor Helge Høivik from CERD as director. Lars Egeland, the head of LC, is deputy director.
Training courses
LATINA was established in 2008.
Its first training event was a three week summer course – LATINA Summer 2008 – within the new OUC Summer School. The 2009 program includes three courses:
- LATINA Spring 2009 (completed)
- LATINA Summer 2009
- LATINA Museum Informatics (LMI) – in the autumn
LATINA Spring is a 15 credit course which combine three intensive weeks, in February, March and May, respectively, with supervised project work in between. LATINA Summer will be part of the OUC Summer School program.
Like the spring course, LMI will be a 15 credit course combining three intensive workshop weeks with supervised project work. The course covers one module in a new Master degree in Museum Education. It is aimed at museum professionals and conducted in Norwegian.
Practice arena
LATINA/lab will also be a practice arena for university college lecturers and for librarians who are following the OUC post-graduate qualification programmes.
